Traditional Membership in Karate Alberta (KA) means belonging to an organization dedicated to the preservation of the unique styles of karate developed in Japan/Okinawa. All traditional styles are encouraged to become members and to participate in KA programs according to their own needs. Regardless of style, the benefits of physical training and mental concentration during practice can be seen in the quality of members’ personal lives.
Modern
Within the association, modern methods of exercise, training, and coaching are encouraged through commitment to the goals of the National Coaching Certification Program . The emphasis is on well-rounded development through planned practice, correct physical training, mental preparation, and related subjects such as proper nutrition.
Safety
The Members of Karate Alberta are committed to providing a safe environment for training and competition. The Coaching Certification process guarantees that all certified coaches are aware of injury management, from prevention to first aid. The sparring competitions are non-contact, and proper safety equipment is mandatory for all competitors. A physician or emergency medical technicians attend all Association tournaments. A sport insurance policy is included with memberships provided through Karate Alberta.
